Stockholm offers a unique mix of city, nature, and historic settings, which makes it a great destination for weddings. Whether you are planning a full weekend with your guests or a more classic one day celebration, the venue you choose will shape the entire experience.

As a planner, I often guide couples not only based on how a place looks, but how it works. The flow of the day, how guests move, where people gather, and how the atmosphere builds over time all matter just as much as the setting itself. Here are three venues in Stockholm that each offer a different kind of wedding experience.

1- Häringe Slott, for a full weekend wedding outside the city

Häringe Slott is located about 25 minutes south of Stockholm. It is a good option if you want to gather your guests in one place and create a full wedding weekend rather than just a single day.

The layout allows you to move between different spaces, for example from a ceremony outdoors to dinner in a tent, and then into the evening celebration. Since many guests can stay on site, it creates a more connected experience where everyone spends time together across several days.

This venue works well for couples who want structure and flexibility at the same time, with a clear plan but also room to relax into the celebration.

2- Grand Hôtel Stockholm, for a city wedding with a classic setting

Grand Hôtel is located in central Stockholm, with views over the water and the Royal Palace. It is a strong choice if you are looking for a more traditional wedding setting in the city.

The venue offers structured spaces for dinner and celebration, which makes planning more straightforward. It is also convenient for guests, especially those traveling from abroad, since everything is close by.

Service is a key part of the experience here, and the team is used to handling weddings at a high level, which helps ensure the day runs smoothly from start to finish.

3- Idöborg, for a smaller wedding in the archipelago

Idöborg is located in the Stockholm archipelago, about one and a half hours from the city. It is best suited for couples who want a more private setting with a smaller group.

Since it is an island, the experience is more focused and contained. Guests arrive together, stay on site, and share the full wedding experience from start to finish. This creates a different dynamic compared to a city or hotel wedding.

The setting is simple and close to nature, which works well if you want to keep the focus on time with your guests rather than on a more formal structure.

How to choose between these venues

All three venues offer different advantages, and the right choice depends on how you want your wedding to feel and function.

If you want a full weekend with many guests in one place, Häringe Slott is a strong option. If you prefer a city setting with a more traditional structure, Grand Hôtel works well. If you are planning a smaller and more private experience, Idöborg is a good fit.

Choosing the venue is one of the first and most important decisions in the planning process. It sets the direction for everything that follows, from logistics to guest experience. If you are unsure which option suits you best, getting guidance early on can make the process much easier.

These are just three venues, and Stockholm has so much more to offer. Every couple is different, and there is always a place that fits your vision, your priorities, and the way you want your wedding to feel.

We are here to guide you through the options, help you see what works in practice, and support you in finding a venue that truly feels right for you. We will also continue to share more venues in Stockholm to inspire and help you along the way.
