How to master a five day wedding celebration

Even a month after the celebrations ended, we still find ourselves thinking about Sarah and Christiaan's wedding.
For five unforgettable days, family and friends travelled from all over the world to celebrate together. It became so much more than a wedding. It became a holiday, a reunion, and a once in a lifetime experience shared by everyone who was there.
Planning a celebration of this scale taught us so much about what it takes to create a seamless multi day wedding. Here are a few of our biggest takeaways.

The venue
The venue is one of the most important decisions you'll make when planning a multi day wedding.
It isn't just where the ceremony takes place. It becomes your guests' home for the celebration, the setting for long breakfasts, afternoon swims, heartfelt conversations, late night dancing, and memories that will last long after everyone has returned home.
When choosing your venue, think beyond beautiful surroundings. Consider practical elements like accommodation, accessibility, activities, and whether the venue can comfortably host several days of celebrations.
Sarah and Christiaan chose Häringe Slott, just outside Stockholm. With over 65 guest rooms, beautiful gardens, a pool, elegant event spaces, and an incredible culinary team, it offered everything they needed to bring their vision to life.
Having one venue where guests could stay together made the entire celebration feel effortless. Instead of travelling between locations, everyone could fully immerse themselves in the experience and simply enjoy every moment together.

The activities
One of the things we loved most about planning this wedding was giving each day its own personality.
A five day celebration should feel like a journey, where every day brings something new to discover while still leaving space to simply enjoy being together.
Sarah and Christiaan filled the week with everything from morning runs and workout sessions to a Mamma Mia inspired welcome party, a relaxed pool day, and plenty of quiet moments around the castle.
They also chose to leave the venue for one evening, taking everyone into Stockholm's Old Town for a Viking inspired dinner. It became one of those unexpected highlights that gave their international guests a chance to experience a unique part of Swedish culture before the wedding day.
The balance between organised activities and free time kept the celebrations feeling exciting without ever feeling overwhelming.

Wedding Planning Means Planning for the Unexpected
No matter how carefully you plan, there will always be elements you can't control.
In Sweden, the weather is often one of them.
Two of the biggest moments of Sarah and Christiaan's celebration, the Mamma Mia welcome dinner and the Spaceship themed after party, were planned outdoors. Rather than hoping for perfect weather, we planned ahead and rented a beautiful tent so the celebrations could continue whatever the forecast had in store.
For us, flexibility isn't about changing plans at the last minute. It's about preparing for every possibility, so the couple and their guests never have to worry.

Relax, we'll take care of everything
A five day wedding is an incredible experience, but it also comes with hundreds of moving pieces behind the scenes.
Our role is to make sure you never have to think about them.
From the very first ideas to the final farewell brunch, we guide you through every decision, coordinate every supplier, solve every unexpected challenge, and make sure you can spend your time exactly where you should be, creating memories with the people you love.
If you're dreaming of a destination wedding or a multi day celebration, we'd love to help bring your vision to life.
Wedding memories
Beyond the beautiful setting and the unforgettable celebrations, what we'll remember most is Sarah and Christiaan themselves.
From our very first meeting, they approached every part of the planning process with trust, positivity, and genuine excitement. Even with an ambitious vision and five days of celebrations to coordinate, they remained calm, open minded, and kind throughout the entire journey. They trusted our guidance, welcomed our ideas, and embraced every step with a smile.
Planning their wedding never felt stressful. It felt like creating something truly special together.
Their love for one another was impossible to miss. There was so much respect, warmth, and joy between them, and that feeling naturally spread to everyone around them.
Their guests also embraced every theme, dressed up, threw themselves into every activity, and celebrated with incredible energy from beginning to end. There was laughter around every corner, friendships formed between people from different countries, and an atmosphere filled with generosity, happiness, and love.
Looking back, that's what made this wedding so unforgettable. It wasn't only the five days of celebrations or the beautiful surroundings. It was the people, the love they shared, and the feeling they created for everyone who was lucky enough to be part of it.
As wedding planners, those are the weddings that we will always keep as a memory in our hearts.
Sarah & Christiaan's Experience with Lovelu Planning
It was such a joy working alongside Sarah & Christiaan. Discover what they have to say about their experience with Lovelu :
“Louise and her team are worthy of more than 5 stars. She strikes the perfect balance of creativity and organization. Her ideas are fun and beautiful, but she also doesn't miss a single detail. She knows all the loveliest, most talented vendors on a personal level and brings them straight to you. She really got to know us and understood our vision- then executed perfectly! It was a really individualized process. We will honestly miss our planning sessions with Louise. Our wedding was 10/10 perfection, and we could not have done it at all without Louise. She was the best investment we made during our wedding. No one believed us when we said that planning the wedding was so fun and so little stress, but it was all thanks to Louise and LoveLu!”
With all my heart,
Louise
