A Stockholm Love Story at Grand Hôtel: Anna & Carlos

Some weddings just stay with you. Anna and Carlos’s day at the Grand Hôtel wasn’t just beautiful, it was unmistakably them. And I had the honor of planning every detail.

Their love story began at the gym in Mexico 11 years ago—Carlos, the quiet type, made the bold first move. What followed was a deep, easy connection that's both grounded and joyful. Effortlessly low-key and fiercely devoted to their families, that energy set the tone for everything created around their day.
They chose Stockholm for their destination wedding because it’s a city that feels like home.
With Anna’s father originally from Kalix in northern Sweden, the decision to marry in this country felt like a beautiful full circle — a way to honor her roots while sharing a place that had become deeply meaningful to them both. Every summer, they also walk through Humlegården, grab fika at NK Art Bakery, and shop the streets around the Grand Hôtel. So when we began planning, it wasn’t just about the venue — it was about crafting a celebration that felt like stepping into a moment they’d lived a hundred times before, only now dressed in white and holding hands as husband and wife.
At the Grand Hôtel, we leaned into their love for elegance with soul. Deep red walls, flickering candlelight, classic florals, and thoughtful details that whispered rather than shouted. Their wedding dinner felt like an intimate dinner party — just 40 guests, meaningful conversation, laughter, exquisite food, and a mariachi band as the ultimate surprise.

The mariachi moment was pure magic. A piece of their Mexican heritage brought to life in the heart of Stockholm — emotional, symbolic, and full of rhythm. Carlos lit up when El Rey played. Everyone sang. There were waltzes, heartfelt toasts, and the kind of dancing that starts slow and ends in pure, uninhibited joy.
One of the things I loved most? Anna and Carlos trusted me fully to guide the process — but they never lost sight of who they are. They wanted the day to feel personal, grounded, and full of heart. No stress. No show. Just presence, warmth, and a few unexpected twists.
A heartfelt thank you to 2Brides for capturing these beautiful memories so perfectly! Your talent for turning emotions into timeless images means the world to us.
Fun fact: I speak Spanish fluently!
Sharing a cultural connection made it easier for us to understand one another — it built a natural sense of trust and closeness. On the wedding day, it also allowed me to connect with their families in a more personal way. Some guests spoke little English, so being able to communicate in a way that felt familiar helped make them feel seen, welcome, and a little more at home.
Anna and Carlos, thank you for letting me be part of your story. It was truly an honor to walk beside you — from that very first call to your last dance of the night. Your wedding reminded me why I do what I do, not to create perfection, but to shape experiences that feel alive, personal, and filled with love.
With all my heart,
Louise
